DRAFT · NOT YET LAWYER-REVIEWED

This page describes what ReadMaxxer actually does today, in plain language, so it can be reviewed against the real mechanics rather than a boilerplate template. Per FR-168 (docs/02-prd.md) and docs/14-security-privacy-a11y-compliance.md §9.6, no policy text on this page is published for public beta until a qualified lawyer has reviewed it. Nothing here should be relied on as a finished legal document.

What ReadMaxxer is

A benchmark and gamified visual-performance training app: short screen-based exercises that measure and train reaction speed, visual attention, and tracking. Results describe your performance on these specific screen tasks, never a medical, clinical, IQ, ADHD, or eyesight claim, and never a guaranteed real-world outcome. If any copy anywhere in the product implies otherwise, that is a bug against our own product rules (docs/01-product-thesis.md §7), not an intended claim.

Eligibility

You must be 13 or older to create an account, and you attest to this at signup. We do not verify age beyond this attestation, consistent with services not specifically directed at children.

Accounts

You can use the benchmark anonymously, without an account. Creating an account (email or Google) links that anonymous history to a permanent identity. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.

Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed through Paddle, our merchant of record, which handles checkout, card details, and tax (VAT/GST/sales tax) for your jurisdiction. We never see or store your card details. Cancellation is available at any time through your account; canceling does not retroactively refund time already used unless required by law or explicitly stated at purchase.

Not yet built (Phase 0): The specific cancellation and refund flow UI (and this section’s exact wording once that flow is final) is being built alongside billing (task track B3), described here at the level of the business rule, not yet the finished screen-by-screen flow.

Acceptable use

  • No attempting to automate, scrape, or reverse-engineer the scoring or exercise mechanics.
  • No sharing your account with others in a way that circumvents the subscription model.
  • No using the product in a way that violates applicable law.

Disclaimers

ReadMaxxer is a training and benchmarking product, not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or substitute for professional advice of any kind. Scores describe performance on the specific on-screen tasks presented; they are not claims about your eyesight, cognition, or any real-world capability.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be indicated on this page, with an updated date.
